Vision Therapy: Beyond 20/20
Did you know that the way you process what you see can affect your reading skills? It’s called VISION PROCESSING. Just because your child has 20/20 vision, they could still have VISION PROCESSING issues.
17 Visual Skills are needed for success in reading, academics, and sports!
Some of those skills are:
- Eye Tracking – eyes following a line of print
- Eye Teaming – two eyes working together as a team
- Binocular Vision – simultaneously blending the images from both eyes into one image
- Accommodation – maintain clear eye focus when reading
- Visual-Motor Integration – eye-hand coordination
What is Visual Perception / Processing?
The ability to interpret and understand what you see.
Difficulties occur when the brain inaccurately receives and reads the visual cues sent by the eyes.
Individuals may process information differently and need a specialiized learning approach and vision therapy.
